I love Ring. After trialling their doorbell and finding it extremely effective and reliable. I’m now fully converted to IOT style home security. See my full review of the Ring doorbell here.

Aptly dubbed the “Ring of Security” they have expended their range of doorbells and CCTV cameras into what they are calling a security ecosystem.

New Ring Products

They have introduced a whole new range of products including:

  • Two new cctv cameras – the Stick Up Cam and the Stick Up Cam Elite
  • Ring Beams – intelligent outdoor security lights
  • Ring Alarm – your hub for everything home security
  • Smoke Alarm
  • Flood Sensor

Ring alarm - home security hub

These new products give Ring a much more complete lineup for home security solutions. I particularly like the alarm keypad and the intelligent outdoor lighting. Ring does an amazing job of using integrated batteries in their products. This allows you to place devices, even cctv cameras, exactly where you want them without the worry of having to get power to them.

My doorbell typically lasts 2-3 months and then is fully recharged in a day. Outdoor lighting with that kind of battery life would be excellent, and this is helped by the intelligent use of the lighting which will optimise battery life.

No date has been given for the release of these new products yet, but expect to see them soon in 2018.

See their video giving an overview of their expanded product range below:

Jamie Siminoff, Chief Inventor and Founder of Ring, said:

In order to execute on our mission of reducing crime in neighbourhoods, homeowners need security that is affordable, proactive, easy to install, and comprehensive.

All Ring Cams, Doorbells, and Beams are integrated so homeowners can create a complete security system with custom zones, commands and settings to best deter thieves. As we continue to innovate and layer new Cams, smart lights, and Doorbells into the Ring of Security, we’re going to make being a burglar in 2018 a very tough job.
